HISTORY
In 2020 Cynthia Evans met with Tim Burow, President of Sunset International Bible Institute, to discuss the idea of a camp for young ladies ages 12 to 18. The vision of this camp was that it would guide our young ladies to be more equipped coworkers in the kingdom of God. This camp was to be a time of interaction between younger ladies (campers) and more mature ladies of the faith (counselors). Once Tim Burow gave his approval to start the process of formulating the basis of the camp, Cynthia went to Jeff Smith, who was instrumental in the development of the boys' Camp Apollos, to discuss some ideas. As the name and the vision of this endeavor were discussed, the decision was made to have a bridge between the boys’ and the girls’ camps since Acts 18 introduces both Apollos and Priscilla.

ABOUT US
The counselors for Camp Priscilla are a combination of SIBI students and alumnae and members of the Sunset Church of Christ. Our counselors are knowledgeable in the Word and are equipped to share the various ways that our campers can further their preparation for teaching others about Jesus.
OUR FOCUS
Priscilla exhibited many elements that we would like to emphasize in the lives of our young ladies. Priscilla was a wife, a missionary, a businesswoman, and a teacher of the Word. She also opened her home to the church and to traveling strangers.
Camp Priscilla is focused on not only teaching biblical principles to our young campers but also helping them realize that they as women are valuable in our church community.
ACTIVITIES
The activities that are planned for Camp Priscilla are used to help our young ladies become mature women of faith, the church, and the community.
Some of the activities that campers may participate in during their time at Camp Priscilla include:
Leading ladies’ groups in prayer, song, and fellowship
Teaching younger children lessons from the Bible in a fun and entertaining manner
Guiding devotionals for ladies in senior community centers
Visiting widows in their homes
Hosting a tea for ladies of the Sunset Church of Christ congregation
Camp Priscilla provides an avenue to prepare our campers to be able to teach, lead songs, and feel empowered to train the younger girls they come in contact with. Our prayer is that these ladies are touched in such a way that they have a more rooted and grounded faith in years to come — not only in the distant future, but now, as they walk the halls of their schools, interact with their friends, and act as beacons of light to the dark world around them.
